Lemor Project Meeting was held in Malta on 15-16th January 2014. Representatives from Italy, United Kingdom, Turkey, Germany, Poland and Malta attended the meeting.
During the first day of the project meeting the group visited the Richmond foundation, a local NGO providing community services for persons with mental health difficulties and promoting mental health and the prevention of mental illness amongst the public.
On the second meeting day, visits were held at YMCA and Suret-Il-Bniedem.YMCA is a non profit movement assisting and providing shelter for disadvantaged groups and individuals; Suret-Il-Bniedem offers temporary residential care to homeless persons.
Suret-Il-Bniedem has three houses in Malta and during the project meeting partners visited one of the houses Dar Teresa Spinelli in Valetta. This home provides shelter for women and their offspring, as well as female minors who have experienced physical, psychological or emotional abuse, which put them in a vulnerable position.
After visiting these organizations, Richmond Foundation and Dar Teresa Spinelli were chosen as the best practices in Malta by the project participants.
