I Unemployment in Poland

In a first half-year of 2012 there were 1 964 445 the unemployed registered in Poland.

Characteristical features of unemployment in śląskie voivodship comparing to other voivodships

one of the lowest unemployment rate (next to wielkopolskie and mazowieckie voivodships),
the highest number of job offers reported to labour offices,
the lowest number of the unemployed registered per 1 job offer.

Other essentials information:

The most quantity of the unemployed were noticed in towns with county rights so as: Częstochowa, Sosnowiec, Bytom, Katowice.
A number of the unemployed in special condition on a labour market in the end of June 2012 was 168,4 k of people and being compared to the end of June in a previous year it rose by 5,5%. The number was 89,3% of the unemployed in the viovodship (89,5% in a previous year).
Share of selected categories of the unemployed in a special situation on a labour market of a total number was as follows:

Lack of work especially among young people at the age of 25-34 - 56,2 k and rose annually by 5,8%.
The most of the registered unemployed were people low qualified – low secondary and under - 53,2 k.
Continuously increases a number of people with higher education among the unemployed – 21,6 k.

III Statistical analysis of unemployment in Ruda Śląska

Analyzing the number of the unemployed in the past few years, both in Ruda Śląska, voivodship and in Poland, we can notice continuous increase this amount.

Taking into account these two tables, increase of a number of the unemployed in particular months in Ruda Śląska can be noticed.

As can be seen on the above statement a number of unemployed women is at e level of about 60%.

Thanks to profound analysis of the unemployment structure in Ruda Śląska, a high level of the people being in a special situation on a labour market can be noticed. An Appendix no. 1 of a report MIPS- 01 contains data about level of this group of unemployed, i.e. a number of 3746 people whish is about 88% of the total (at the end of 4^th quarter2012), therefore it is a really high level of all the unemployed registered in our office.

4242 people are registered as unemployed in The District Labour Office at the end of 2012. As usual women dominate within the group, they are 59,22% of all (2512 women, 1730 men).

Time of being jobless

Definitely the biggest part are people who are registered as unemployed form 1 to 12 months, within the group the most part are people registered up to 3 months.

In most marked groups women dominate, except for the 1^stone – unemployed up to 1 month.

The age of the unemployed

Over 30% of the unemployed are people At the age of 25-34 and they are the largest group of the unemployed regarding the age.

As can be seen in the above table the next of the sequence of number by the age is a group of people between the age of 18 a 24. Women definitely dominate (over 61%).

Education

In a group of the unemployed at the end of 2012 people with lack of education or at most lower secondary level dominate, which is 33% of all. Alarming is the fact that a number of people with higher education level was higher than the ones with general secondary level.

Special advantage of women in groups of people with a general secondary, higher as well as postsecondary and secondary vocational level can be noticed.

Taking under consideration the age of the unemployed the structure of the group by seniority is not surprising. The largest group are people with professional experience from 1 up to 5 years.

The table below shows a number of particular groups of people in special situation on a labour market.

The largest group consist of people without secondary education, who are 62% at he unemployed. A large group are long-term unemployed people, whose chance for existence on a labour market is much limited because of out of date qualifications and skills. Similar situation concerns another group – people without vocational qualifications, especially without professional experience.
Following the above table a group under the age of 25 deserve on a special attention – people who should begin their career and gain professional experience. Unfortunately, it is opposite, they are over 20% of the unemployed in Ruda Śląska. In large part, this group coincides with the group of people without work experience.
Each group enumerated in the table has got difficulties in entrance into a labour market, often because of stereotypical perception by employers, their ignorance and difficult life situations.
Moreover, often there are many situations crossing difficult position of the unemployed.
All of described groups require intensive and relevant support, but taking into account additional factors, i.e. data form the whole Poland connected with difficult situation of the young , opinion about them from experts we should take care about them in a special way.
